As a business owner/entrepreneur or as someone looking to build your email campaigns into opportunities. You might not know something’s which are important for you to know either when you are starting out or as you continuously send out emails, you will need to continuously do these things to ensure your email campaigns stand out of the crowd.

Here are some tips that will definitely help you out as time goes on:

  1. Scrub your email list
  2. Be responsive:
  3. Avoid stealing Emails
  4. Good subject lines
  5. Remember your Preview text
  6. Clear CTA
  7. Avoid too many pictures or links
  8. Authenticate your domain

1. Scrub Your Email List:

After compiling all the emails you have collected, you need to clean it using an email list verifier, you can search up “email list verifiers” and they will all pop up, choose the right one for yourself. You need to clean the email list especially when you do not start sending the emails immediately, some recipients might have a bad mailbox or other reasons that can cause a hard or soft bounce which can lead to constant bounce rate and you really do not want that.

As time goes on, not everyone will interact with your emails when you send them. Clean out these people or rather export the emails into another list so you can send them a follow-up email later on. You can pick a periodic time to clean out your list. It can be once in month or once in six month.

2. Be Responsive:

When recipients answer to your emails, it is advisable you respond back to them. This will help you in the long run because they will tend to recognize your emails as you send them. It gives you a positive aura with them. Their Email Service Providers will also recognize your emails which would ensure it gets into their inbox or classify it as important which later on, ensure better Deliverability.

3. Avoid Stealing Emails:

Many people find it easier to steal other people’s emails rather than going the legal way. You must have heard of businesses scraping people’s emails off social media platforms like; LinkedIn, Pinterest or other social media platforms. This will definitely hurt your email campaigns as time goes on. You will most likely run into a lot of privacy and legal issues , it will also lead to your sender’s reputation getting damaged and recipients of these emails won’t interact with your emails or even care about what you offer.

4. Good Subject Lines:

When you start crafting emails to send to your recipients. If you don’t also craft a good subject line then they might not open it. Most inbox are filled with all sorts of emails from businesses like yours, you need to catch their attention while they are scrolling through their inbox. Don’t get me wrong, a catchy subject line shouldn’t be a misleading one, it can both be catchy and related to the email content at the same time.

A technique that can also work is using a casual subject line like “Hey, what’s up” or one I got from Alex Cattoni (A well versed copywriter), she wrote: “I was not drunk when I wrote this email🤣” . You notice both subject lines I used are examples are casual like you are talking to a friend.

5. Remember Your Preview Text:

Never forget the little part of the email that sticks out under the subject line which is displayed before the email is opened. That part is also very important, make good use of it to further attract your recipient’s attention. Look at an example below which definitely captures attention.

6. Clear CTA:

CTAs are called Call To Action. An example of a CTA is a button or link to your E-commerce website or a blog.

Don’t leave your recipients wondering what to do, do not leave them stranded but to be honest not every email should have a clear CTA unless you want them to do something. If your intention is to give them tips and value then you can do that without having any CTA.

You can also ask your recipients questions. Remember the point I made in Number 2, asking questions at the end of your email can prompt recipient to reply back to you. It gives a feeling of friends talking to each other, this is good because then the recipient feels settled with your emails.

7. Avoid too Many pictures and links:

Pictures can be weighty, making your emails too heavy to send or reach your recipients. Keep pictures at minimum. One, two or three pictures are enough. Also putting too much links can make your emails seem like a spam and may land your emails in the spam folder.

8. Authenticate Your Domain:

Authenticating your domain using SPF, DKIM, and DMARC is a critical step in enhancing email deliverability and protecting your domain’s reputation. It ensures your emails are trusted, secure, and delivered to the intended recipients, ultimately supporting the effectiveness of your email marketing efforts.
